I work at an animal shelter, and over the past several months, my work pants have acquired an embarrassing odor. The hems of the pants smell like cat urine. Why are beeswax candles so great? I know they're clean burning. Supposedly they emit negative ions, which purify the air in some way. What does this mean? I've never heard of negative ions in any other context, so is there a scientific explanation behind them?

so i searched through the tags but i couldn't find much aside from odor removal. i'm searching for natural perfumes! my cousin used to own a natural food store in brooklyn and she sold this FABULOUS all-natural perfume that was full of spicy, clove-y goodness. if you could recommend anything similar, please let me know!

Hey all. So on Friday I'm moving into an old house, 100+ years, which has a musty smell throughout the whole place. I was sure somebody had mentioned a way to clean a microwave just by putting some baking soda in and turning it on. I've been all through the tags and found nothing like that. Can anyone clear this up for me? If that even works, how??

My uncle gave me some abalone shells from California.  They are beautiful, but they also have that funky seawater/algae/aquatic plant smell.  I was wondering if there is a way to remove the smell without submerging them in bleach water which is what he recommended.  I know that I can't use vinegar, as that will destroy the inside of the shell.  I  ( Read more... )
